Dancer-turned-English-teacher, Michela Gacioch (known to her students as Ms. G) has always had a passion for fashion. Her personal style is largely influenced by her many years as a dancer in both New York and Los Angeles.

After transitioning into life as a high school educator, Ms. G’s outfits were a common topic of discussion with her students. This eventually inspired her to post her daily teaching outfits on TikTok.

When it came time to clear out her closet in mid-2024, Ms. G had an idea. Rather than just donate her clothing (only 10-30 percent of second-hand donations are actually resold in store), why not give her gently used clothes to her own students and school community? Even better, why not create a space where students could have a fun, free, and sustainable shopping experience in their classroom with their friends? Thus, Ms. G’s Pop-Up Shop was born! 

The first shop featured a curated selection of clothing, shoes, accessories, and self-care products sourced from Ms. G’s closet and the collections of her most stylish friends (thank you Rachel, Orion, Rania, Isaiah, Caleb, Tatiana, & Michelle). 

Today, Ms. G’s Pop-Up Shop seeks to expand from a one-stop-shop to an organization aimed at providing accessible, sustainable style to students across Los Angeles & beyond, because every student deserves to be Best Dressed.
